Phu Quoc is primarily served by Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC) for air travel and Bai Vong Port for ferry arrivals. Major mainland ferry terminals are located in Ha Tien and Rach Gia.

By Air:

Direct flights arrive at Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC) from major Vietnamese cities including Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Can Tho, and Hai Phong. International direct flights are available from cities such as Seoul, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. Airlines operating these routes include Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air, Bamboo Airways, and others.

  • Travel time from Ho Chi Minh City is approximately 1 hour, with one-way tickets ranging from 700,000 VND to 1,900,000 VND ($30 - $80 USD).
  • Flights from Hanoi typically take around 2 hours, with round-trip prices from 1.9 million VND to 3.5 million VND.

By Ferry (from mainland Vietnam):

Ferries connect Phu Quoc to the mainland at Ha Tien and Rach Gia.

  • From Ha Tien: Fast ferries take about 1.5 hours, while slower ferries like Thanh Thoi can take 3 hours. Ticket prices range from $9-$18 USD per person. Companies include Phu Quoc Express, Superdong, Thanh Thoi, and Binh An.
  • From Rach Gia: Ferries typically take about 2.5 to 3 hours. Ticket prices are around $13-$26 USD per person. Companies include Phu Quoc Express, Superdong, Thanh Thoi, and Hoa Binh Ship.

By Bus and Ferry/Speedboat (from Ho Chi Minh City):

There are no direct bus routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Quoc. The journey involves a bus ride to either Ha Tien or Rach Gia, followed by a ferry or speedboat.

  • The combined bus and ferry trip via Ha Tien takes approximately 9-10 hours, with bus tickets costing 150,000 to 300,000 VND ($6-$12 USD) and ferry tickets 200,000 to 350,000 VND ($8-$15 USD).
  • The route via Rach Gia takes around 8-9 hours, with bus tickets costing 150,000 to 300,000 VND ($7-$14 USD) and ferry/high-speed ship tickets 250,000 to 400,000 VND ($10-$17 USD).
  • Reputable bus companies for mainland travel include Phuong Trang (Futabus) and Tuan Nga.

Local Transportation on Phu Quoc:

Upon arrival at Phu Quoc International Airport, taxis and hotel airport pick-up services are readily available. A public bus, Line 11, operates between Duong Dong and An Thoi via the airport, with a fare of 20,000 VND from the airport to Duong Dong.
