Ninh Binh has a central bus station, Ninh Binh Bus Station, located at 207 Le Dai Hanh Street. The main train station is Ninh Binh Railway Station, situated in the city center on Ngo Gia Tu Street.

Flights:

Ninh Binh does not have an airport. The nearest airports are Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) in Hanoi, approximately 120-127 km away, and Tho Xuan Airport (THD) in Thanh Hoa, about 65-90 km away. From these airports, travelers can take a bus, taxi, or private car to Ninh Binh.

Trains (from Hanoi):

Trains depart from Hanoi Railway Station to Ninh Binh Railway Station. The journey typically takes 2 to 3 hours. Ticket prices range from 70,000 VND (hard seat) to 140,000 VND (sleeper with AC), with VIP options available for around 443,000 VND. Tickets can be purchased at the station, through travel agencies, or online.

Buses (from Hanoi):

Buses depart from Hanoi's Giap Bat or My Dinh Bus Stations to Ninh Binh Bus Station. The travel time is around 2 to 3 hours, or potentially 1.5 to 2 hours via expressway. Standard bus fares range from 80,000 VND to 160,000 VND. More comfortable limousine vans, offering door-to-door service, cost around 250,000 VND to 270,000 VND and depart hourly.

Private Car/Taxi (from Hanoi):

A private car or taxi from Hanoi to Ninh Binh takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Costs vary, with private cars typically ranging from 50 USD to 115 USD, depending on the vehicle type and pick-up location.

Motorbike (from Hanoi):

Adventurous travelers can rent a motorbike for the 2 to 3-hour journey from Hanoi to Ninh Binh. Rental prices are generally between 100,000 VND and 200,000 VND per day.

Buses (from Halong Bay):

Direct tourist bus services connect Halong Bay's Bai Chay harbor to Ninh Binh, with a travel time of about 4 hours. The cost is approximately 350,000 VND, and buses operate twice daily.
