  <p>Ranong, located in Southern Thailand, serves as the main transport hub for reaching Koh Phayam. This city features a domestic airport and a central bus station. All boat services to and from Koh Phayam operate from various piers within Ranong.</p>

          <h3>From Bangkok to Ranong (and then to Koh Phayam):</h3>

                      <strong>By Flight::</strong> Flights depart from Don Mueang Airport (DMK) in Bangkok directly to Ranong Airport (UNN). The flight duration is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, with fares typically ranging from 1,400 to 3,300 THB.  Upon arrival at Ranong Airport, a taxi ride to Ranong Pier takes about 20 to 25 minutes.

                      <strong>By Bus::</strong> Buses from Bangkok's Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai) travel to Ranong Bus Station. This journey can take between 8.5 to 14 hours, with tickets costing approximately 437 to 900 THB.  From the bus station, a songthaew to the pier typically costs 15 to 80 THB and takes around 15 minutes.

                      <strong>By Train + Bus/Minivan::</strong> Ranong does not have a train station. One option is to take a train from Bangkok to Chumphon (approximately 121 km from Ranong) or Surat Thani (approximately 220 km from Ranong).  From these locations, a connecting bus or minivan can transport you to Ranong.  This combined journey can take between 10 to 18 hours.
