Getting There and Away

Phetchabun's primary transportation hub is its bus terminal, situated approximately 1 to 2 kilometers from the city center. While Phetchabun Airport (PHY) exists, it currently does not operate regular commercial flights.

By Bus:

Direct bus services frequently operate between Bangkok's Mochit Bus Terminal and Phetchabun. The journey typically takes about 5 to 7 hours and ticket prices range from approximately ฿330 to ฿550.

By Car/Taxi:

Traveling by car from Bangkok to Phetchabun covers a distance of around 346 to 370 kilometers and takes approximately 5 to 5.5 hours. A private taxi or car service can cost between ฿3,800 and ฿4,600, while car rentals are available from various companies in Phetchabun for self-drive options.

By Train and Bus:

There is no direct train service to Phetchabun. An alternative involves taking a train from Bangkok (Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal Station) to Lam Narai, followed by a bus transfer to Phetchabun. This combined journey can take 6 to 8 hours and cost approximately ฿236 to ฿1,335.

By Flight and Bus:

Phetchabun Airport is not operational for commercial flights. The nearest active airport is Phitsanulok Airport (PHS), located about 102 kilometers away. One option is to fly from Bangkok's Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) to Phitsanulok, then proceed to Phetchabun by bus. This route typically takes around 5 hours and 25 minutes, with costs ranging from approximately ฿1,048 to ฿2,084.
