The primary transport hub for reaching Koh Chang is Trat Airport (TDX) on the mainland. Ferries to the island depart from Ao Thammachat Pier in Laem Ngop, located in Trat province. In Bangkok, major bus terminals such as Ekkamai and Suvarnabhumi Airport serve as departure points for ground transportation.

Upon arrival at Trat Airport, shared minibuses offer direct transfers to your accommodation on Koh Chang, including the ferry ticket, for around 650-850 Baht per person. This journey takes approximately 2 hours.
Private car or minivan transfers from Trat Airport to your Koh Chang hotel can be arranged for approximately 1,900 to 2,500 Baht total.

Other shared minibus services from Bangkok (Ekkamai, Suvarnabhumi Airport, Khao San Road) to Trat or directly to the ferry pier are also available, with combined travel times ranging from 6 to 9.5 hours and fares from 300 to 950 Baht depending on the service and inclusions.
An overnight Cherdchai bus from Ekkamai departs at 23: 30, arriving at Trat bus station around 05:00, from where a songthaew can take you to the piers.

A comfortable door-to-door private transfer from Bangkok to your hotel on Koh Chang, including ferry tickets, typically costs between 3,500 and 5,200 Baht.
This journey usually takes approximately 5-7 hours.
