Chanthaburi is served by a central bus terminal, the Chanthaburi Bus Terminal, located close to the city center. The province does not have its own airport or a direct train station, relying on Trat Airport (TDX) for air travel.

By Bus:

Buses are a common and economical way to reach Chanthaburi. Direct services operate from Bangkok's Mochit Bus Terminal and Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekkamai), with a journey typically lasting 4 to 5 hours. Fares generally range from ฿210 to ฿290.

By Private Car/Taxi:

For a more direct route, private cars or taxis are available from Bangkok. The drive takes approximately 3 to 4 hours, with costs ranging from ฿2,500 to ฿3,300 per vehicle.

By Flight (via Trat Airport):

While Chanthaburi lacks an airport, travelers can fly to Trat Airport (TDX), which is about 43.6 km to 66 km away. From Trat, a connecting bus or taxi completes the journey to Chanthaburi, bringing the total travel time to approximately 3 to 4.5 hours. An option involves taking a train from Bangkok to Pattaya (approximately 3.5 to 4 hours), followed by a bus or private taxi onward to Chanthaburi (an additional 2 to 3 hours). This combined journey can take 9 to 10 hours in total, with an estimated cost of $10 to $13 USD.
