The primary transport hubs for reaching Khao Yai are located in Bangkok, specifically the Mo Chit Bus Terminal and Mochit New Van Terminal for buses and minivans, and Hua Lamphong, Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal, or Don Mueang stations for trains. Pak Chong serves as the nearest town with transport connections to Khao Yai National Park.

Private Car/Taxi/Van:

This is the most convenient option, offering direct door-to-door service from Bangkok. The journey typically takes approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Costs for a private taxi or van range from approximately 1,700 THB to 4,000 THB per vehicle (about $70–$140 USD).

Bus/Minivan:

Buses and minivans depart from Bangkok's Mo Chit Bus Terminal or Mochit New Van Terminal to Pak Chong. The travel time ranges from 3.5 to 6 hours, including the necessary transfer from Pak Chong to Khao Yai National Park. Fares can be as low as 265 THB (approximately $7.30–$12 USD) per person. From Pak Chong, local transport such as songthaews or taxis are needed to reach the park entrance.

Train:

Trains from Bangkok's Hua Lamphong, Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal, or Don Mueang stations travel to Pak Chong. This journey takes about 3 to 4 hours. From Pak Chong station, visitors must arrange local transport like a songthaew or taxi to Khao Yai National Park. The total travel time, including the transfer, can extend to 6-7 hours. Train tickets to Pak Chong generally range from approximately 37 THB to 150 THB (about $3–$27 USD), with the combined train and onward transport costing around $5–$30 USD per person.

Car Rental:

Renting a car in Bangkok provides the most flexibility for exploring Khao Yai and its surrounding attractions. The drive from Bangkok to Khao Yai takes around 2.5 to 3 hours. Rental costs for a small 5-seater car can start from about 800 THB (approximately $22 USD) per day. Car rental services are available in Bangkok, including at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
