Siargao Island presents a dynamic and budget-friendly accommodation landscape, predominantly featuring hostels and guesthouses that foster social connections and offer an array of experiences for backpackers.
1. Mad Monkey Hostel Siargao
Type: Hostel
I found Mad Monkey to be the quintessential party hostel in Siargao, ideal for those seeking a lively atmosphere. Its tiki-themed bar is always buzzing, especially during nightly events like beer pong tournaments. Connecting with fellow travelers here is effortless, making it perfect for solo adventurers looking to socialize and enjoy the vibrant nightlife.
2. Hiraya Surf Hostel
Type: Surf Hostel
At Hiraya Surf Hostel, I experienced a strong social scene, particularly around its lively bar and refreshing pool area. They often host social events and family dinners, making it easy to meet new people. The staff are notably welcoming and helpful with arranging surf lessons and island tours, blending a party vibe with surf culture.
3. Sunlit Hostel
Type: Hostel
Sunlit Hostel offered me a great balance between social interaction and relaxed downtime. Its rooftop hangout is a popular spot for nightly entertainment and games, making it simple to socialize and meet new friends. The hostel has a comfortable, eco-friendly vibe, providing a perfect setting to kickstart an evening or unwind after a day of exploring.
4. Sinag Hostel
Type: Hostel
Staying at Sinag Hostel provided an affordable base with a friendly atmosphere. The staff are approachable, and I appreciated the opportunity to book boat tours directly through the hostel. Evenings often feature enjoyable parties with other guests, offering a good mix of organized activities and social opportunities close to the beach and famous surf spots.
