Bohol is primarily accessed via the Bohol-Panglao International Airport (TAG) for air travel and Tagbilaran Port for sea travel. Other ferry ports include Tubigon and Getafe.

By Air (Flights):

  • Direct flights to Bohol-Panglao International Airport (TAG) are available from major Philippine cities. A flight from Manila (Ninoy Aquino International Airport - MNL) typically takes about 1 hour and 25 minutes to 1 hour and 50 minutes, with airlines like Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and AirAsia offering services. One-way fares from Manila can start from approximately $24-$25 USD (around PHP 1,400-1,500). Flights from Clark International Airport take around 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  • International direct flights are also available from destinations such as Seoul, South Korea, with travel times ranging from 4 hours 10 minutes to 4 hours 40 minutes.

By Sea (Ferries):

  • The most common ferry route is from Cebu City (Cebu Pier 1) to Tagbilaran Port, Bohol. Fast craft services like OceanJet and SuperCat complete the journey in approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to 2 hours, with tourist class fares starting around PHP 500 (about $9 USD). Slower RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) ferries, such as Lite Ferries, are also available, taking about 4 hours 30 minutes and costing around PHP 275 (about $5 USD).
  • Ferries also connect Cebu to Tubigon Port (1.5-2 hours) and Getafe Port (1 hour 15 minutes) in Bohol.
  • From Dumaguete City, OceanJet ferries operate to Tagbilaran Port, taking approximately 2 hours.

Local Transportation from Bohol-Panglao International Airport (TAG):

  • Taxis are readily available for direct transfers, costing around PHP 180-220 (about $3-4 USD) for a 7-minute ride to Panglao or PHP 370-460 (about $6.50-8 USD) for a 15-16 minute ride to Tagbilaran.
  • Private shuttle services and vans offer convenient transfers to hotels in Panglao, with prices starting from about $6.53 USD per person for a 15-minute journey.
  • Public buses, operated by Southern Star Bus Transit, connect the airport to areas like ICM Mall (near Tagbilaran) in about 36 minutes, with fares ranging from PHP 120-170 (about $2-3 USD).
  • Tricycles (motorized tricycles) are also an option, though fares should be negotiated.
