The primary gateway to the Banda Islands is through Ambon, which hosts Pattimura Airport (AMQ) and significant ferry terminals at Ambon city harbor and Tulehu harbor.

By Air:

Flights from major Indonesian cities like Jakarta, Surabaya, and Makassar connect to Ambon's Pattimura Airport.

By Fast Boat:

The Cantika Inova fast boat connects Ambon's Tulehu harbor to Banda. This service operates on Thursdays from Tulehu to Banda (departing at 9:00 AM) and returns on Sundays from Banda to Tulehu (departing at 7:00 AM). The journey takes about 5 hours, with ticket prices ranging from 550,000 IDR for Executive to 1,000,000 IDR for Premium.

By PELNI Ship:

Indonesia's national boat service, PELNI, offers a reliable, albeit slower, option to the Banda Islands from Ambon. Several PELNI ships, including LABOBAR (8-hour trip) and PANGRANGO, SANGIANG, and SABUK NUSANTARA 106 (14-16-hour trips), operate roughly twice a month. Tickets for PELNI ships can be purchased at the Pelni office in Ambon or through their website/app, with prices for economy around 141,000 - 175,000 IDR. Cabins may be arranged onboard for an additional fee.

Ferry Bahtera Nusantara 02:

This ferry also travels between Ambon and Banda, taking approximately 10 hours. Economy class tickets are around 145,000 IDR, with bunk beds available for 190,000 IDR and VIP private cabins for 745,000 IDR.
