1. Kawah Putih (White Crater)
Kawah Putih is a striking volcanic crater lake known for its unique turquoise to milky-white waters, which change color depending on mineral content and weather. The surrounding area features dramatic volcanic formations and a distinctive 'dead forest' of blackened tree trunks. It is recommended to visit in the morning for clearer views. A strong sulfuric odor is present, so bringing a mask can be beneficial.
Cost: Entrance fee for international tourists is approximately IDR 81,000 (about USD 5.58). An 'Ontang Anting' shuttle, mandatory for visitors parking away from the crater, costs around IDR 27,000 - IDR 29,000 for a round trip. Access to the skywalk or floating bridge may incur an additional fee, starting from IDR 11,000.
Transport: Located about 50-57 kilometers south of Bandung, the drive typically takes around 2 hours. It is best reached by private car/driver or ride-hailing services like Grab. Public transport involves taking a public bus from Bandung to Ciwidey, followed by a local taxi (ojek) or another shared van. Many organized tours from Bandung also include Kawah Putih.
