Komodo Airport (LBJ) serves as the primary air transport hub for Labuan Bajo, and Labuan Bajo Port is the main gateway for sea travel.
By Air:
Direct flights to Komodo Airport (LBJ) are available from several Indonesian cities, including Jakarta (approximately 2.5 hours, served by AirAsia, Batik Air, Citilink, Garuda Indonesia) and Denpasar, Bali (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes, served by AirAsia, Batik Air, Garuda Indonesia).
Other domestic direct routes include Ende, Bajawa, Kupang, Praya (Lombok), Surabaya, and Maumere, mostly operated by Wings Air and Super Air Jet.
An international direct flight route connects Labuan Bajo to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with a flight time of about 3 hours 40 minutes.
By Sea (Ferries & Boats):
Ferries connect Labuan Bajo from Bali (Benoa Harbor) and Lombok. These journeys can be lengthy, taking around 24 hours or more from Bali, and approximately 17 hours 36 minutes from Lombok.
PT PELNI operates ferries like KM. BINAIYA, KM. TILONGKABILA, and KM. LEUSER from Bali to Labuan Bajo, with adult tickets costing around IDR 283,000.
Overland travel from Lombok can include a ferry to Sumbawa and then a bus across Sumbawa before another ferry to Labuan Bajo from Sape.
Multi-day boat trips from Lombok to Labuan Bajo are also an option, often including stops at Komodo National Park.
Local Transport (To/From Komodo Airport - LBJ):
Komodo Airport is located approximately 2-4 km from the city center and port.
Taxis are available, with fares ranging from around IDR 50,000 to IDR 255,000 for a private transfer to the city or hotels.
Online ride-hailing services like Gojek (motorbike) are available; a motorbike ride to the airport can be as low as IDR 20,000.
DAMRI buses operate from Komodo International Airport to various points in Labuan Bajo daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., costing IDR 10,000 per person.
Many hotels and resorts offer complimentary airport shuttle services.
Local minibuses (bemos) operate into town from the airport.
