Kratie, Cambodia, serves as a local transport hub primarily for road and river travel, with a central bus station and a river pier. While a small local airfield exists, the main air gateway is Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH).

From Phnom Penh (Road):

Buses are the most common transport option, with services from companies such as Virak Buntham, Sorya, Giant Ibis, Mekong Express, Capitol Tour and Transport, and Lana Express. Travel typically takes 4.5 to 7 hours, with fares ranging from approximately $8 to $20.

From Phnom Penh (Shared Taxi/Minivan):

Shared taxis or minivans offer a faster journey, often costing between $10 and $12. A change of vehicle in Kampong Cham may be required.

From Siem Reap (Road):

Buses and minivans connect Siem Reap to Kratie, with journey times varying from 5.5 to 13 hours. Fares typically range from $12 to $28. Operators include Virak Buntham Express, Sarah Transport, Khorn Rado VIP Express, and Mevis Transport.

From Kampong Cham (Boat):

Bullet boats operate from Kampong Cham to Kratie, departing early in the morning around 7:00 AM. The river journey takes approximately 3 hours and costs about $7.

From Stung Treng (Boat):

During the wet season, bullet boat services are available between Stung Treng and Kratie. The trip upriver can take 6-7 hours, while the return journey downriver is around 4 hours. The cost is approximately $8.

To Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH):

From Kratie, the most practical way to reach Phnom Penh International Airport is by bus or shared taxi to Phnom Penh, followed by a local transfer to the airport. Techo International Airport (KTI) near Phnom Penh is scheduled to be operational in September 2025 and will become the primary international airport for the capital.
