From Colombo by Train:

Trains depart from Fort Railway Station in Colombo and arrive at Nanu Oya Railway Station, the closest stop to Nuwara Eliya. The journey typically takes between 6 and 7 hours. Ticket prices generally range from LKR 1,760 for standard classes up to LKR 8,000 for higher classes. Upon arrival at Nanu Oya, travelers can take a tuk-tuk to Nuwara Eliya town for approximately LKR 500, or a local bus for a lower fare.

From Colombo by Bus:

Direct bus services are available from Colombo's Bastian Mawatha Bus Terminal to the Nuwara Eliya Main Bus Station. This route usually takes about 4.5 to 6 hours. Fares for local buses range from LKR 410 to LKR 750, while air-conditioned tourist buses may cost around LKR 4,510 (approximately $15 USD).

From Colombo by Taxi/Private Car:

A private taxi or car offers a direct and faster journey, taking approximately 2.5 to 5 hours from Colombo or Colombo Airport. Costs for this service typically range from LKR 19,930 to LKR 29,000 (approximately $60 to $120 USD).

From Colombo by Flight:

For the fastest option, flights are available from Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) to Hatton (NUF), followed by a ground transfer to Nuwara Eliya. The total travel time, including transfers, is around 1 hour and 50 minutes. This option is considerably more expensive, with costs ranging from LKR 24,000 to LKR 110,000.

From Kandy by Train:

Travelers can take a train from Kandy Railway Station to Nanu Oya Railway Station. This scenic journey typically lasts between 3.5 to 5.5 hours. Ticket prices vary from LKR 1,160 (approximately $3.90 USD) for standard classes to LKR 2,000 (approximately $11 USD) for first class. From Nanu Oya, a tuk-tuk to Nuwara Eliya town costs around LKR 500, or a bus for about LKR 20.

From Kandy by Bus:

Direct bus services operate from Kandy (Goods Shed Bus Stop or central bus station) to Nuwara Eliya Central Bus Station. The travel time is generally between 2.5 and 4 hours. From Kandy by Taxi/Private Car:
