The primary transport hub for reaching Pisac is the city of Cusco, which is well-connected to various destinations within Peru and serves as the gateway to the Sacred Valley. From Cusco, various ground transportation options are available to Pisac.

Colectivo (Shared Minivan):

This is a popular and economical option for travel between Cusco and Pisac. Colectivos depart from Puputi Street in Cusco (specifically from 'Paradero a Pisac'). The journey typically takes about 40-50 minutes and costs approximately S/. 4-6 (around US$1.50-US$2.15) per person. They depart frequently, usually when full, from early morning until evening.

Taxi (Private):

For greater comfort and flexibility, a private taxi can be hired. The ride from Cusco to Pisac takes approximately 35-50 minutes. Fares generally range from S/. 40-90 (around US$16-US$24 or US$17.85-US$35), depending on negotiation and whether it's arranged through a hotel or flagged on the street. It is advisable to agree on the fare before starting the journey.

Taxi (Shared):

A shared taxi service also operates, particularly from Pisac back to Cusco, costing around S/. 5 (approx. US$1.80) per person. These depart once they have four passengers.

Bus (Public):

Public buses are the most inexpensive option, with fares around S/. 2.50-6 (approx. US$1-US$2.15) and a journey time of about 50 minutes from Cusco's bus terminal or Puputi Street. However, colectivos are generally recommended as a safer, quicker, and more comfortable alternative.

Renting a car offers the flexibility to explore the Sacred Valley independently. Major car rental companies like Hertz, Avis, and Budget operate in Cusco. Driving in Cusco can be challenging due to congestion and signage, but the route outside the city offers scenic views.
