Puerto Natales is served by Teniente Julio Gallardo Airport (PNT) for domestic flights and has a main interurban bus station, Terminal Rodoviario Puerto Natales.

By Air:

  • Direct flights to Puerto Natales (PNT) are available from Santiago (SCL) during the high season (approximately September to April) with airlines such as LATAM, Sky Airline, and JetSMART. The flight typically takes between 3 hours 15 minutes and 4 hours 8 minutes, with one-way fares ranging from approximately $42 to $52, and round-trip flights averaging $76 to $441.
  • Outside of the high season, or if direct flights are unavailable, the common approach is to fly to Punta Arenas (PUQ) and continue by bus.

By Bus:

  • From Punta Arenas:: This is a primary route to Puerto Natales, with frequent daily bus services available from Punta Arenas city center or its airport. The journey typically lasts around 3 to 3 hours 15 minutes, with ticket prices ranging from approximately $7 to $35. Major bus companies include Bus-Sur and Buses Fernández.
  • From El Calafate, Argentina:: Bus services connect El Calafate to Puerto Natales, with the trip taking approximately 5 to 6 hours, including time for border crossing procedures. Fares typically range from $12 to $35. Bus-Sur and Marga Taqsa are among the operators.
  • From Santiago or other central/northern Chilean cities:: Long-distance bus travel from Santiago is generally not recommended due to the extensive travel time, which can exceed two days and cost between $170 and $320.

By Ferry:

  • A ferry service operated by Navimag connects Puerto Montt to Puerto Natales during the high season, offering a scenic journey that spans approximately 4 days.

By Car Rental or Private Transfer:

  • Renting a car provides flexibility for travel from Punta Arenas (approximately 3 hours drive) or El Calafate (approximately 5-6 hours drive). Private transfer services are also an option from Punta Arenas and its airport.
