Potosí has a primary bus terminal, the Nueva Terminal (New Terminal), which handles most long-distance bus routes. There is also an Ex Terminal (Old Terminal), which some sources indicate is used for buses to Uyuni and shared taxis to Sucre. The city is also served by Aeropuerto Capitán Nicolás Rojas, though bus travel is a more common mode of transport for many visitors within Bolivia.

From La Paz:

Buses are a common option, taking approximately 9 to 10 hours. Fares can range from $8 to $31, depending on the bus comfort level. Buses typically depart in the evening from La Paz's main bus terminal, arriving at Potosí's new bus terminal.

From Sucre:

The bus journey usually takes about 3 to 4 hours. Buses depart frequently throughout the day, between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM, from Sucre's main bus terminal. Ticket prices are generally between $2 and $11. Buses arrive at Potosí's new bus terminal.

From Uyuni:

A bus ride typically lasts around 4 to 7 hours. Services are frequent, with departures from early morning until late evening (e.g., 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM). Fares for this route are usually between $6 and $12. While some buses depart from Potosí's old terminal for Uyuni, arrivals from Uyuni often use the new terminal.

From Santa Cruz:

A direct bus trip to Potosí can take approximately 16 hours and costs around $19-$20. Alternatively, one can fly from Santa Cruz to Sucre and then take a bus to Potosí, which combines for about 5 hours 40 minutes of travel and a cost of approximately $81-$87.

By Air:

Potosí's Aeropuerto Capitán Nicolás Rojas offers commercial flights, primarily with Boliviana de Aviación. However, direct flight availability to Potosí from other major Bolivian cities may be limited. An alternative is to fly to Sucre's Alcantari Airport and then take a bus to Potosí.
