Journeys to Rottnest Island primarily begin from major ferry terminals located in Perth City, Fremantle, and Hillarys Boat Harbour. Air transfers also depart from Perth and nearby airports.
Ferry:
This is the most common and affordable way to reach Rottnest Island. Several ferry operators provide services from various departure points:
From Perth's Barrack Street Jetty: The ferry journey takes approximately 90 minutes. A one-way adult fare can range from around AUD 74.00 to AUD 251.00, with return tickets generally between AUD 125 and AUD 496, including the island admission fee.
From Fremantle (B Shed or Northport): This is the fastest ferry option, taking about 25 to 30 minutes. Return adult fares typically start from approximately AUD 86.50, including the island admission fee.
From Hillarys Boat Harbour: The trip takes around 45 minutes. A same-day return adult fare, including island admission, can be approximately AUD 89.00.
Seaplane:
