While traditional live music venues are not a feature of Kakadu National Park, visitors may encounter opportunities for live music, particularly during the dry season. For instance, food tents at Cooinda Lodge have been known to offer live music alongside evening dining. Outside of specific events, bars within the lodges, such as those at Aurora Kakadu Lodge and Cooinda Lodge, provide a setting for socialising.

Situated at Cooinda Lodge, this popular outdoor bistro and bar offers a laid-back setting, especially under fairy lights in the cooler months. It is an ideal spot for enjoying a refreshing drink and a meal, with a family-friendly feel and views of the surrounding natural environment. I found it to be a perfect place to unwind with a cold drink after a Yellow Water Billabong cruise.
Getting There: Barra Bar & Bistro is located within Cooinda Lodge Kakadu and is easily accessible on foot for guests staying at the lodge. It is also a short walk from the Yellow Water Billabong cruise departure point.
2. Escarpment Restaurant & Bar (Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel)
Type: Hotel Restaurant & Bar
Located within the distinctive crocodile-shaped Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel in Jabiru, this venue provides a comfortable and air-conditioned space to enjoy a drink. I appreciated the opportunity to relax in its inviting atmosphere, with options for alfresco seating during pleasant evenings. The bar complements a menu that often features local ingredients.
Getting There: The Escarpment Restaurant & Bar is part of the Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel in Jabiru township. For guests staying at the hotel, it is walking distance from their rooms. Jabiru town centre, including a small supermarket, is also a few minutes' walk away.
