Getting There and Away

Segovia is primarily served by the Segovia-Guiomar high-speed train station, located approximately 6-7 kilometers from the city center, and a central bus station on Paseo Ezequiel González, which is a short walk from the historic core.

By High-Speed Train (from Madrid):

High-speed trains, operated by Renfe (AVE/Avant) and Ouigo, depart frequently from Madrid Chamartín station to Segovia-Guiomar, with journey times as short as 25-30 minutes. Ticket prices typically range from €15-€40 each way, with better fares often secured by booking in advance.

  • From Segovia-Guiomar Station to City Center:: Upon arrival at Segovia-Guiomar, local bus line 11 or 12 provides a connection to the city center, including the Roman Aqueduct, in about 15-20 minutes for approximately €2. Taxis are also readily available.

By Bus (from Madrid):

Regular bus services, primarily by Avanza, operate from Madrid's Moncloa bus station directly to Segovia's bus station. The journey typically takes around 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes for a direct route. Fares usually range from €6-€11 one-way, making it a cost-effective option.

By Car:

Driving from Madrid to Segovia takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, covering a distance of about 90-95 kilometers. Car rental costs and fuel expenses would apply.
