Girona is well-equipped with a major train station, Estació de Girona-Costa Brava, and a central bus station, both conveniently located on Plaça Espanya within walking distance of each other. Girona-Costa Brava Airport (GRO) serves as a key air hub approximately 12 km (7 miles) outside the city.

By Air:

Girona-Costa Brava Airport (GRO) offers regular flights, primarily from low-cost European airlines connecting to cities like Brussels, Düsseldorf, London, Manchester, Amsterdam, and Budapest.

To Girona city center from GRO: Take the Sagalés bus line 607, which runs approximately hourly, for a 25-30 minute journey costing around €2.75 - €3. Taxis are also available, with a ride taking about 15-20 minutes and costing approximately €30-€40.
To Barcelona from GRO: A direct Sagalés bus service (line 604) connects Girona Airport to Barcelona's Estació del Nord. The journey takes around 1 hour 20 minutes and a one-way ticket costs approximately €16-€19.50.

By Train:

Girona's main train station provides regional, national, and international rail services, including high-speed AVE trains.

From Barcelona: High-speed AVE and Avant trains from Barcelona-Sants offer a swift journey to Girona in approximately 37-39 minutes, with tickets starting from around €6.85-€9.99. Regional trains are also available, taking about 1 hour and costing around €6.
From Madrid: High-speed AVE trains connect Madrid to Girona, with journeys taking as little as 3 hours 28 minutes.

By Bus:

The Girona Bus Station offers extensive services within Catalonia and to international destinations.

From Barcelona: Direct bus services from Barcelona Estació del Nord to Girona take approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes, with tickets ranging from €7-€26 depending on the operator (Sagalés, FlixBus, BlaBlaCar Bus, Alsa).

By Car Rental:

Car rental services are available at Girona-Costa Brava Airport and within Girona city. Prices typically start from approximately $14-$20 per day, varying by season and company. Driving from Barcelona to Girona takes about 1 hour 19 minutes (118 km / 73.4 miles).
