Seville is well-equipped with major transport hubs, including Seville Airport (SVQ), the primary train station Sevilla Santa Justa, and two main bus stations: Plaza de Armas and Prado de San Sebastián.
By Air (Seville Airport - SVQ):
Seville Airport, also known as San Pablo Airport, is located approximately 10 kilometers northeast of the city center.
The EA (Especial Aeropuerto) airport bus is the most common public transport option, departing every 15-30 minutes. A one-way ticket costs around €4-€5, and the journey to the city center or Santa Justa train station takes about 25-45 minutes.
Taxis are readily available outside the terminal, with flat rates ranging from approximately €22-€31, depending on the time of day and whether it's a holiday. The ride typically takes 15-20 minutes to the city center.
By Train (Sevilla Santa Justa Station):
Sevilla Santa Justa is the city's main train station and a significant hub for high-speed (AVE) and regional trains.
High-speed AVE trains connect Seville to major Spanish cities. For example, a journey from Madrid takes approximately 2 hours and 41 minutes to 3 hours and 9 minutes, with tickets potentially starting from around $8.59 - $21 (€17-€46) if booked in advance.
Connections to other Andalusian cities like Cordoba and Malaga are also frequent. The station is located northeast of the city center and is accessible by local buses (lines 21, 32, C1, C2) or a 15-20 minute walk to the center.
By Bus (Plaza de Armas and Prado de San Sebastián Bus Stations):
Seville has two main bus stations serving various destinations.
Plaza de Armas Bus Station: is the terminus for the EA airport bus and offers routes to other cities.
Prado de San Sebastián Bus Station: handles many regional and national services, including destinations within Andalusia (e.g., Cadiz, Cordoba, Granada, Malaga) and some longer-distance routes to cities like Barcelona and Murcia. It is well-connected by local tram and metro (Line 1).
Bus journeys from Cordoba to Seville take around 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes, with tickets starting from approximately €5. A bus from Tarifa to Seville typically takes about 3 hours 10 minutes to 3 hours 30 minutes, costing around €21-€35.
For longer distances, such as from Barcelona, bus travel can take approximately 16 hours 46 minutes, with tickets starting from around $47 (€38).
