Entertainment and Music:
The Isle of Skye's music and entertainment scene is centered around traditional Scottish music, often found in welcoming pubs and community spaces, with occasional festivals providing broader cultural experiences.
Visitors can experience regular live traditional music sessions and cèilidhs at venues such as An Talla Mòr 1820 and The Isles Inn in Portree. Further options for live music, including traditional Scottish and sometimes rock, are found at The Old Inn in Carbost and the Edinbane Inn. The Am Praban Bar also offers regular traditional music in a friendly cèilidh atmosphere. 2. The Old Inn

Situated on the picturesque shores of Loch Harport in Carbost, this traditional free house pub offers a warm Highland welcome. It is renowned for its wholesome Scottish food, using local fish, meat, and produce, along with a selection of local ales and a roaring fireplace. The pub often features live traditional music, creating a cosy and authentic experience.
Getting There: Found in Carbost, near the famous Talisker Distillery, this pub is best reached by car or taxi. Public transport to Carbost is limited, so planning transportation in advance is recommended.
3. The Ferry Inn

This charming 19th-century inn in the fishing village of Uig offers a lively bar and a small plates restaurant that focuses on fresh, local produce. It provides a welcoming and peaceful vibe with cosy interiors and a selection of local ales, wines, and classic cocktails. It’s an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy the local charm, particularly for those travelling to or from the Outer Hebrides.
Getting There: Located in Uig, which is home to a ferry terminal. It can be reached by car, and local bus services connect Uig to other parts of Skye, though evening services might be infrequent. Taxis are an option.
4. The Stein Inn
Type: Historic Pub with Sea Views
As the oldest inn on Skye, located in the quaint village of Stein on the northwest coast, this pub exudes character with its low ceilings, stone walls, and a warm fireplace. It offers a wide selection of whiskies and stunning views over Loch Bay, making it a memorable place to enjoy a drink as the sun sets.
Getting There: The Stein Inn is located in the village of Stein, on the Waternish peninsula. Reaching it typically requires a car or a taxi, as public transport options in this area are very limited.
