Évora features a central bus terminal, Terminal Rodoviário de Évora, located just west of the old town, offering easy walking access to the city's historic center. The city also has a train station situated to the south of the center, approximately a 10- to 15-minute walk from the main attractions.

By Air:

Évora does not have its own airport. The closest major international airport is Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS), located approximately 130-132 kilometers away. From Lisbon Airport, travelers can take a direct bus or use the metro to connect to train or bus services bound for Évora.

By Train:

Direct Intercidades (IC) trains operated by Comboios de Portugal (CP) connect Lisbon to Évora. Trains typically depart from Lisbon's Oriente, Entrecampos, and Sete Rios stations. The journey generally takes between 1 hour 25 minutes and 1 hour 37 minutes. A single 2nd class ticket costs around €9.83 to €12.50, while 1st class can be €16.65. Booking in advance can yield promotional fares as low as €7.50 for 2nd class. Weekdays typically see five departures, while weekends and public holidays have three. Seat reservation is compulsory.

By Bus:

Two main bus operators, Rede Expressos and FlixBus, provide frequent services between Lisbon and Évora. Rede Expressos buses depart from Lisbon's Sete Rios and Oriente stations, with journey times ranging from 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours. A single ticket typically costs €11.90 to €13, with dynamic pricing meaning early booking is advisable for the best fares. FlixBus, a low-cost option departing from Lisbon Oriente, offers faster journeys of about 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes and tickets can start from as low as €3.98 to €7.48. Bus services are generally more frequent than trains, with Rede Expressos offering up to 23 departures daily.

By Car Rental:

Renting a car is a viable option for travelers wishing to explore the Alentejo region surrounding Évora, as public transport options are limited outside the city. The drive from Lisbon to Évora typically takes about 1 hour 26 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes via the A2 and A6 highways. Major car rental companies like Europcar, Guerin, and others have offices in Évora.
