Oslo features several key transport hubs for both domestic and international travel: Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL) serves as the primary international gateway, while Oslo Central Station (Oslo S) is the main railway hub located in the city center. Additionally, the Oslo Bus Terminal, situated adjacent to Oslo Central Station, handles regional, long-distance, and international coach services.

By Air:

Oslo is primarily served by Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL), with direct flights from numerous cities across Europe, North America, Africa, and Asia. Airlines such as Scandinavian Airlines, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Ryanair, and Wizz Air operate flights to OSL and also to Sandefjord Airport, Torp (TRF), which is further south.

From Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL) to City Center:

  • Airport Express Train (Flytoget):: This is the fastest option, taking approximately 19-22 minutes to Oslo Central Station. A single ticket costs around NOK 240. Trains depart every 10-20 minutes.
  • Vy Regional Train:: A more economical choice, this train takes about 23 minutes to reach Oslo Central Station. A single ticket is approximately NOK 124. Services run every 20 minutes.
  • Airport Express Bus (Flybussen):: Buses from OSL to the city center typically take 45-60 minutes, depending on traffic, with ticket prices ranging from NOK 170-250.

By Train:

Oslo Central Station offers extensive train connections.

  • Domestic:: Vy (Norwegian State Railways) provides regional and express services to various Norwegian cities, including Bergen, Trondheim, Stavanger, and Lillehammer.
  • International:: Direct trains connect Oslo to Gothenburg, Sweden, with a journey time of about 3 hours 30 minutes and fares starting from 249 NOK. Services also operate to Stockholm, Sweden, with varying journey times and advance-purchase fares.

By Bus:

The Oslo Bus Terminal serves as a central point for bus travel.

  • Domestic and International:: Companies like Vy Bus4You and FlixBus offer long-distance routes within Norway and to other European cities.

By Ferry:

Ferries depart from Oslo to various international destinations.

  • To Copenhagen, Denmark:: DFDS Seaways operates this route, with a crossing duration of approximately 17 hours 30 minutes, usually with 7 weekly sailings.
  • To Kiel, Germany:: Color Line offers services lasting about 20 hours, with up to 7 weekly sailings.
  • To Frederikshavn, Denmark:: DFDS provides crossings of approximately 9-10 hours, with up to 5-7 weekly sailings.

By Car:

Car rental services are available at Oslo Gardermoen Airport. Driving from the airport to Oslo city center takes approximately 40-46 minutes, with potential tolls ranging from NOK 120-180.
