Astypalea has one main airport, Astypalaia Island National Airport (JTY), located near Analipsis, and its primary port is in Agios Andreas, approximately 2 kilometers from Chora, the island's capital.

By Air (Flights):

  • Direct domestic flights to Astypalaia Island National Airport (JTY) are available from Athens International Airport (ATH). The flight duration is approximately 50 minutes to 1 hour. One-way tickets can start from around €100, with round-trip fares from €174. Sky Express is a primary airline for this route.
  • Direct flights are also available from other Greek islands such as Leros, Kos, and Rhodes to Astypalea.

By Sea (Ferries):

  • Regular ferry services connect Astypalea to Piraeus Port in Athens throughout the year. The journey from Piraeus to Astypalea is long, typically taking 8.5 to 13 hours. Ferry ticket prices from Piraeus start from approximately €38 to €45. Major operators include Blue Star Ferries and Dodekanisos Seaways.
  • Astypalea is well-connected by ferry to many islands within the Cyclades and Dodecanese island groups.
  • Routes from Naxos typically take about 4 hours 45 minutes, with tickets starting from €18.
  • Ferries from Kos can take approximately 3 hours, with tickets from €13.
