Bonifacio is primarily served by Figari Sud Corse Airport (FSC) for air travel and its own port for ferry connections to Sardinia. For travel from mainland France or other Corsican cities, the main ferry ports are located in Porto-Vecchio, Bastia, and Ajaccio, which then require onward ground transportation to Bonifacio. Local bus services also operate to and from Bonifacio's marina.

By Air:

The closest airport is Figari Sud Corse Airport (FSC), approximately 14-17 km north of Bonifacio. Airlines such as Air Corsica, Air France, easyJet, and Volotea operate flights to Figari from various European cities. From Figari, one can take a taxi directly to Bonifacio, which typically takes around 20 minutes and costs approximately €50-65. Alternatively, bus services connect Figari Airport to Porto-Vecchio, where a separate bus can be taken to Bonifacio.

By Ferry:

Bonifacio's port offers frequent ferry services to Santa Teresa di Gallura in Sardinia, with a journey time of around 50-60 minutes and ticket prices starting from approximately €15-35 for a one-way foot passenger ticket, or €35 for a round trip. Companies like Moby Lines and Ichnusa Lines operate these routes. For ferries from mainland France (e.g., Marseille, Toulon, Nice), arrivals are typically at Porto-Vecchio (about 25 km north of Bonifacio), Bastia, or Ajaccio, requiring subsequent bus or car travel to Bonifacio.

By Bus:

Regular bus services connect Bonifacio with nearby towns. A bus journey from Porto-Vecchio to Bonifacio takes approximately 30 minutes and costs about €6-10. For travel from Ajaccio, buses operate to Porto-Vecchio, a journey that can take around 3 hours and 30 minutes with costs between €22-35, followed by the local bus to Bonifacio. It is important to note that direct bus connections from Figari Airport to Bonifacio are not always available, often necessitating a transfer in Porto-Vecchio.

By Car:

Renting a car provides flexibility for exploring the region. Car rental services are available at Corsican airports and in Bonifacio, with average daily prices ranging from $66-$112 and weekly rates starting from approximately $239. Driving from Ajaccio to Bonifacio takes about 2.5 hours, and from Bastia, it is approximately a 3-hour drive. Parking in Bonifacio, especially in the historic Upper Town, can be challenging due to narrow roads and limited, often expensive, spaces. It is advisable to arrive early, and some boat ticket purchases may include free parking.

By Taxi:

Taxis are available for transfers, such as from Figari Airport to Bonifacio.
