Bath's hotel scene offers a sophisticated blend of historic charm and modern luxury, catering to guests seeking relaxation and cultural immersion.
1. The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa
Type: Luxury Hotel
Staying at The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa feels like stepping into a piece of Bath's most iconic history. The service is impeccable, and I found the blend of Georgian grandeur with modern comforts truly exquisite. The serene walled garden provides a peaceful escape, and the on-site spa offers a wonderfully tranquil retreat after exploring the city.
2. The Queensberry Hotel
Type: Boutique Hotel
I experienced The Queensberry Hotel as a wonderfully contemporary space housed within charming Georgian townhouses. Its central location makes it ideal for city exploration, yet it maintains a distinct, un-fussy character. The Olive Tree restaurant, with its Michelin star, provided an exceptional dining experience.
3. The Gainsborough Bath Spa
Type: Luxury Spa Hotel
My stay at The Gainsborough Bath Spa was a truly unique and rejuvenating experience, primarily due to its exclusive access to natural thermal waters. I found the 'Spa Village' to be a highlight, offering a range of thermal facilities that made for a deeply relaxing retreat right in the heart of the city. The elegant design of the hotel complements Bath's historic spa heritage.
4. Homewood Hotel & Spa
Type: Country House Hotel
I found Homewood to be a delightful country house hotel that combines luxury with a playful atmosphere, set amidst 20 acres of picturesque Somerset countryside just outside Bath. The individually designed rooms, especially those with private hot tubs or saunas, offer a unique and indulgent escape. The rolling hills surrounding the property create a wonderfully bucolic setting.
