The primary connection points for travelers are the nearby cities of Nicosia and Larnaca, which offer wider transportation services, including bus stations and access to Larnaca International Airport (LCA).

By Bus from Nicosia:

Direct bus services (Route 405 by Cyprus Public Transport) operate from Nicosia, specifically from Chilonos - Michail Paridi station or Makario Stadium Bus Station, to Kakopetria Square 2. The journey typically takes around 1 hour 14 minutes to 1 hour 17 minutes, with fares ranging from €3 to €5. Buses run frequently, for example, every two hours from Chilonos - Michail Paridi, or every 30 minutes from Makario Stadium Bus Station.

By Bus from Larnaca Airport (LCA) or Larnaca City:

There are no direct bus routes to Kakopetria from Larnaca Airport or Larnaca city. Traveling by bus involves multiple transfers, often through Nicosia or other central points. A journey from Larnaca Airport could take approximately 3 hours 39 minutes, with an indicative cost of €10-€16, involving transfers via Larnaka Marina, Dionysios Solomos Square, and Makario Stadium Bus Station. From Larnaca city, a similar route with transfers could take around 2 hours 59 minutes, costing €8-€12.

By Car:

Renting a car offers the most direct and flexible way to reach Kakopetria. Driving from Nicosia typically takes about 1 hour 6 minutes and costs approximately €8-€13 for fuel. From Larnaca Airport, the drive is about 1 hour 28 minutes, costing around €14-€21. Car rental services are readily available at major airports.

By Taxi:

Taxis provide a faster, though more expensive, option. A taxi ride from Nicosia to Kakopetria can cost between €70-€90. From Larnaca Airport, a taxi fare is approximately €110-€140. Pre-booked taxi or minibus services are also an option from Larnaca Airport.
