By Air (Most common and fastest):
From Seoul (Gimpo International Airport - GMP): Direct flights typically take around 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes. Prices for a one-way ticket can start from approximately $12-$13 USD, with round-trip fares often available from $22 USD. Major airlines operating this route include Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jeju Air, Jin Air, T'way Air, and Eastar Jet, with very high frequency throughout the day.
From Busan (Gimhae International Airport - PUS): Direct flights are approximately 1 hour in duration. One-way fares can be found from as low as $2 USD, while round-trip tickets range from $7 to $152 USD. Airlines serving this route include Air Busan, Eastar Jet, Jin Air, Korean Air, and Jeju Air.
By Ferry (Slower, more scenic, option for vehicles):
There are no direct ferries from Seoul to Jeju Island; a combination of train/bus and ferry is required.
From Mokpo: The ferry journey takes about 4 to 5.5 hours, with fares starting around 30,800 KRW (approximately $28 USD). To reach Mokpo from Seoul, one can take a KTX train from Yongsan Station, which takes about 2.5 to 3 hours and costs from 53,100 KRW (around $48 USD).
From Wando: This is the fastest ferry option, taking approximately 2 hours 40 minutes to 3 hours. Fares start from 29,850 KRW (around $27 USD). Travelers from Seoul can reach Wando by taking an express bus from Seoul Express Bus Terminal, a journey of about 5 hours.
From Busan: An overnight ferry option is available, with a journey duration of approximately 11 hours.
From Nokdong (Goheung): Ferries take about 3 hours 30 minutes, with prices around $94-$145 USD.
From Yeosu: The ferry ride is approximately 6 hours 40 minutes. Yeosu can be reached from Seoul via a 3-hour 15-minute KTX train ride.
