Kawagoe is served by three main railway stations: Kawagoe Station, Kawagoe-shi Station, and Hon-Kawagoe Station. Kawagoe Station is operated by both JR East and Tobu Railway, while Kawagoe-shi Station is a Tobu-only station, and Hon-Kawagoe Station is operated by Seibu Railway. Hon-Kawagoe Station is typically the closest to the historic center of the city.
