For those seeking live performances, Jazz & Cafe Backstage provides nightly jazz sessions in a venerable setting, fostering interaction among musicians and audiences. Alternatively, The International Bar offers a welcoming atmosphere with a mix of funk, hip-hop, and karaoke, appealing to both locals and international visitors.
1. Bar Oscar

Stepping into Bar Oscar, one immediately notices its old-world elegance. The wood-paneled interior and soft jazz music create a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a quiet drink. Here, I found the staff to be very hospitable, serving expertly crafted classic cocktails and unique original creations. It is a place where attention to detail in mixology is paramount.
Getting There: Bar Oscar is located in the Daimyo neighborhood, part of the central Tenjin district. It is easily accessible by walking from Tenjin Station.
2. Bar Kitchen
Type: Whiskey Bar / Cocktail Bar
Bar Kitchen offers a remarkably cozy setting, distinguished by its impressive collection of whiskies, including rare and old bottles. The bartenders here are highly professional and friendly, which makes for a welcoming experience. It is a spot where one can enjoy a relaxed evening, exploring a wide range of spirits.
Getting There: This venue is situated in Maizuru, within the Chuo Ward, and is a comfortable walk from Tenjin Station.
3. FUKUOKA CRAFT by El Borracho
Type: Craft Beer Bar / Mexican Restaurant
FUKUOKA CRAFT by El Borracho provides a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere. The space feels bright and airy, with a prominent bar counter and visible brewing tanks, adding to its unique charm.
