The city also features major long-distance bus stations and river ferry terminals, facilitating extensive connections within the city and beyond.

By Air:

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport (CKG) is the main airport. Flights from the United States typically range from $361 for a one-way trip to $530-$666 for a round trip, with travel times varying from around 19 hours 10 minutes for more direct routes. Direct flights from Beijing take approximately 2 hours 25 minutes, costing around $224 for a one-way and $451 for a round trip. From Guangzhou, flights are about 2.5-3.5 hours, with costs between 500-1400 CNY.

By Train:

Chongqing has an extensive high-speed rail network. High-speed trains from Chengdu take about 1.5-2 hours, with tickets from $24-$73 (approximately €38). From Beijing, G-class high-speed trains typically take 6 hours 46 minutes to 6 hours 55 minutes, with fares ranging from ¥750-¥850. A high-speed train from Guangzhou typically takes 5.5-7.5 hours for G-series trains (502-1689 CNY) or 7-8.5 hours for D-series trains (481-768 CNY). From Shenzhen, high-speed trains average 6 hours 21 minutes, costing around $26.39.

By Bus:

Local buses within Chongqing generally cost 2 CNY. Long-distance bus services connect Chongqing to surrounding cities and provinces. For instance, a bus journey from Guangzhou can take about 26 hours 30 minutes and cost around ¥450.

By Ferry/Cruise:

While primarily for sightseeing, ferries operate along the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers, offering unique perspectives of the city. Longer Yangtze River cruises are available from cities like Yichang (approximately 3 days) or Shanghai (around 7 days), arriving at Chaotianmen Dock.
