Huangshan City is served by key transport hubs including Huangshan Tunxi International Airport (TXN), Huangshan North Railway Station, and Huangshan Railway Station, providing access to both the city center and the scenic Yellow Mountain area. Huangshan Bus Station, also known as Tunxi Bus Station, is centrally located, and the Huangshan Scenic Area Bus Station is positioned directly at the foot of Mount Huangshan.

By Air:

Huangshan Tunxi International Airport (TXN) offers domestic flights from major Chinese cities like Beijing (approximately 2 hours), Guangzhou (approximately 1.5 hours), Chengdu, Xi'an (approximately 2 hours), Chongqing, Dalian, and Shenzhen. International flights are available from Seoul and Kuala Lumpur.

By High-Speed Train:

High-speed trains are a popular and efficient way to reach Huangshan North Railway Station. Services connect from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station (2.5-3.5 hours, CNY 180-206) , Hangzhou (1.5-2 hours, CNY 77-120) , Beijing South Railway Station (5.5-7 hours, CNY 614.5-662.5) , Hefei (approximately 2 hours, CNY 145) , and Guangzhou (5-7 hours, CNY 606-954) . Direct trains also operate from Nanjing, Fuzhou, and Nanchang.

By Bus:

Long-distance buses are an economical option from nearby cities. From Shanghai, the journey takes 5-6 hours and costs approximately CNY 135. From Hangzhou, buses to Huangshan City (Tunxi) take about 3 hours and cost CNY 89-100. Buses from Hangzhou directly to Tangkou (Mount Huangshan Scenic Area) are also available, taking about 4 hours and costing CNY 90-100.

From Huangshan City Hubs to Mount Huangshan Scenic Area (Tangkou):

  • From Huangshan Tunxi International Airport (TXN): A direct bus service to Tangkou is not available. Travelers can take a taxi directly to the scenic area (approximately 1.5 hours, CNY 140-150) or take a bus/taxi to Tunxi Bus Station first, then transfer to a bus for Tangkou (CNY 15-18, 1-1.5 hours total).
  • From Huangshan North Railway Station: Express buses to Tangkou from the adjacent Huangshan Tourism Passenger Transport Hub operate frequently (every 30-60 minutes from 8:00 to 20:20), taking about 50 minutes and costing CNY 23. A taxi ride typically takes around 50 minutes and costs CNY 75-95.
  • From Huangshan Railway Station (Tunxi): Direct buses to Tangkou run every 30 minutes (05:30-17:30), costing CNY 16-18 and taking about 70 minutes. Taxis are also available, with a cost of approximately CNY 100-120 to the scenic area.
