Fenghuang Ancient Town is primarily accessed via Fenghuanggucheng Railway Station for high-speed trains, Tongren Fenghuang Airport for air travel, and the Fenghuang North Bus Terminal for long-distance coaches.
By Air:
Tongren Fenghuang Airport (TEN):: This is the nearest airport, located approximately 30-40 kilometers from Fenghuang. A dedicated shuttle bus runs to Fenghuang Ancient Town, taking about 1.5 hours and costing around CNY 25. Taxis are also available for approximately CNY 150, with a travel time of about 50 minutes.
Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport:: From Zhangjiajie, take an airport shuttle bus to Zhangjiajie Bus Station, then transfer to a direct bus to Fenghuang. The total travel time is around 4.5 hours, with the bus fare costing approximately CNY 70-80.
Changsha Huanghua International Airport:: Travelers can take an airport shuttle bus to Changsha West Bus Terminal or South Bus Terminal. From Changsha West, a direct long-distance coach to Fenghuang costs CNY 140 and takes about 5.5 hours.
By Train:
Fenghuanggucheng Railway Station:: This high-speed railway station is about 9.6-10 kilometers from the ancient town. From here, a dedicated shuttle bus or maglev sightseeing train can reach the ancient town in approximately 20 minutes, with the maglev costing around CNY 7.
From Changsha:: High-speed trains from Changsha South to Fenghuanggucheng Railway Station take about 2-2.5 hours and range from CNY 175.5 to CNY 259.
From Zhangjiajie:: Bullet trains from Zhangjiajie West Railway Station to Fenghuanggucheng Railway Station take about 1 hour and cost between CNY 75-93.
From Guangzhou:: Direct high-speed trains to Fenghuanggucheng Railway Station take approximately 5 hours and start from CNY 411.
By Bus (Long-Distance):
Fenghuang North Bus Terminal:: This is the main bus hub, situated 3 kilometers northwest of Fenghuang Ancient Town.
From Changsha:: Direct buses are available from Changsha West Coach Station (5.5 hours, CNY 145) and Changzhutan Bus Station (6 hours, CNY 158).
From Zhangjiajie:: Direct buses from Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station take around 3-4 hours and cost approximately CNY 80.
From Jishou:: Buses to Fenghuang depart frequently from Jishou North Bus Station, taking about 1 hour and costing CNY 20-30.
From Huaihua:: Buses from Huaihua West Bus Terminal or Huaihua Long-distance Bus Station take roughly 70-90 minutes and cost between CNY 40-80.
