Abu Dhabi's main transport hubs include Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) for air travel and a central bus station for regional and inter-city connections. Khalifa Port serves as a major maritime hub, primarily for cargo, with some passenger ferry services. The Etihad Rail network is also developing, with passenger services anticipated to launch in the near future.

By Air:

Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) is the primary gateway, served by airlines such as Etihad, Air Arabia, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, and IndiGo. Direct flights are available from numerous international locations; for instance, round-trip flights from major US cities can start from approximately $600 to $670, and from London, prices can be around £134 to £138.

By Bus:

Extensive public bus services connect Abu Dhabi with other emirates and within the city. Inter-city buses to Dubai, such as services E100, E101, and E102, cost around AED 25. Within Abu Dhabi, fares are paid using a Hafilat card (costing AED 10), with a standard fare of AED 2 plus AED 0.05 per kilometer, capped at AED 5. Weekly passes cost AED 30 and monthly passes are AED 95. The Abu Dhabi Link offers an on-demand bus service in specific areas for AED 2 per boarding.

By Taxi/Ride-hailing:

Taxis are widely available and can be booked via the Abu Dhabi Taxi app or hailed. A standard taxi fare starts at AED 12, with an airport pick-up charge of AED 20. Ride-hailing services like Uber and Careem also operate. A taxi journey to Dubai typically ranges from AED 200 to AED 300. Private airport transfers are also an option, with costs varying based on destination and vehicle type, for example, from US$28.09 for a small group to Yas Island.

By Train:

The Etihad Rail network is currently operational for freight. Passenger services are expected to commence in 2026, with plans for a high-speed link to Dubai by 2030, aiming to reduce travel time between the cities to 30 minutes.

By Ferry:

Ferry services primarily connect Dalma and Jebel Al Dhanna ports, as well as Al Aliah and Saadiyat Islands. Fares are AED 100 for a vehicle and AED 20 for adult passengers.

By Car Rental:

Major car rental companies such as Europcar and Hertz have facilities at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
