Arusha is served by two airports: Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for international and some domestic flights, and Arusha Airport (ARK) for domestic connections. The city's main bus terminal is the Arusha City Bus Terminal (Main – Stand Kuu) on Zaramo Street, with a new terminal planned for construction from January 2025.

By Air:

  • International flights typically arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), located about 50 kilometers (31 miles) from Arusha. Airlines such as KLM, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, and Kenya Airways offer direct services.
  • Connecting flights are often available via Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) in Dar es Salaam or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi, Kenya, with domestic flights connecting to Arusha Airport (ARK) or JRO.
  • Flights from Dar es Salaam (DAR) to Arusha (ARK) take approximately 1 hour 33 minutes and can cost between $60-$214.
  • Flights from Zanzibar (ZNZ) to Arusha (ARK) take about 55 minutes, with fares ranging from $63-$261.
  • Flights from Nairobi Wilson Airport (WIL) to Arusha (ARK) take around 1 hour 17 minutes and may cost $334-$568.
  • From JRO to Arusha, a taxi takes about 51 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes, costing $17-$21. Private transfers are also available, priced from $55-$80. Ride-sharing apps like Bolt or Indrive may offer rides for approximately $30.

By Bus:

By Car Rental:
