Rubavu is served by a modern bus terminal, inaugurated in December 2023, which accommodates intercity bus services. The Rubavu Port on Lake Kivu, which opened for a pilot phase in June 2024 and was inaugurated in December 2024, facilitates maritime transport for both passengers and cargo within the Lake Kivu region and across borders.
