Tangier is well-equipped with major transport hubs, including Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport (TNG) for air travel, Tanger Med Port and Tanger Ville Port for ferry services, and Tanger Ville Train Station for rail connections. The city also has a main CTM Bus Station, facilitating bus travel.

Flights:

Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport (TNG) serves as the primary air gateway. Direct flights from European cities like London Stansted can be found for approximately £46-£67 return, with travel times around 3 hours. Flights from the United States, such as from New York (JFK), may cost from $186 one-way or $376-$467 return, with a minimum travel time of about 12 hours 20 minutes. Tétouan Sania Ramel Airport, around 30 miles away, offers a potentially cheaper alternative with an average price of $147 per person.

Ferries:

Tangier is accessible by ferry from various European ports. Crossings from Tarifa, Spain, to Tanger Ville Port are frequent (up to 48 times daily), taking approximately 1 hour and costing around €24-€40. Ferries from Algeciras, Spain, to Tanger Med Port take 30 minutes to 2.5 hours, with tickets from €27-€38. Longer routes include Barcelona, Spain (30 hours, from €77-€99), Sète, France (42-44 hours, from €71), and Genoa, Italy (50-55 hours, from €109). Ferries from Gibraltar typically take 1 hour and cost around $45-$53. Services from Savona, Italy, and Málaga, Spain, are currently suspended.

Trains:

Morocco's high-speed train network connects Tangier to other major cities. A direct train from Casablanca to Tanger Ville Station takes approximately 2 hours 10 minutes, with tickets ranging from MAD 120-MAD 240. From Rabat, high-speed trains can reach Tangier in about 1 hour 53 minutes, costing around €37. Travel from Marrakesh to Tangier involves a transfer at Kenitra, with total journey times around 5 hours 20 minutes to 5 hours 50 minutes, and tickets from €39 or MAD 140-MAD 280.

Buses:

Intercity buses provide a cost-effective way to travel within Morocco. Direct bus services from Rabat to Tangier are available daily, taking between 3 hours 35 minutes and 4 hours 15 minutes, with tickets starting from $9-$13.

Car Rental:

Car rental services are available at Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport and within the city. Daily costs for an economy car typically range from $29-$74, while weekly rentals can be found from approximately $138 to $440. It is often more economical to book a week in advance, and November is frequently the cheapest month for rentals.
