Meknes is well-connected by land transport, featuring two primary train stations: Gare Meknes-Amir Abdelkader, which is more centrally located, and Gare Meknes-Ville. The city also has two main bus stations, the central Gare Routière (Sidi Saïd) and a CTM Bus Station located near the Meknes-Ville train station.

By Train:

Trains are a popular and efficient way to reach Meknes, connecting it to major Moroccan cities.

  • From Fes: Approximately 35-40 minutes, costing around 20-45 MAD (2-4 USD).
  • From Rabat: Approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, with prices ranging from 65-130 MAD (7-17 USD).
  • From Casablanca: Roughly 3 to 3.5 hours, with fares from 100-200 MAD (10-21 USD).
  • From Marrakech: Around 5.5 to 6.5 hours, typically costing 174-380 MAD (17-38 USD).

By Bus:

Buses serve Meknes from most cities across Morocco, offering a more economical option. Major bus companies include CTM and Trans Ghazala.

  • From Fes: About 1 hour, costing 13-45 MAD (3-6 USD).
  • From Rabat: Roughly 2-3.5 hours, with fares from 50-85 MAD (7-13 USD).

Driving to Meknes is straightforward, with access via toll roads like the Fes-Meknes highway. Secure parking is available in areas like Place Lalla Aouda near the medina.

By Air:

Meknes does not have its own major airport. The closest and most commonly used airport is Fes Sais International Airport (FEZ), located approximately 52 km away (around a 50-minute drive). Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) is another option, about 197 km away (around a 2 hour 54 minute drive).
