Rabat is served by Rabat-Salé Airport (RBA) for air travel, and has two primary train stations, Rabat Ville and Rabat Agdal, which are part of Morocco's national railway network (ONCF). Major bus terminals, operated by companies such as CTM and Supratours, facilitate intercity bus travel.

By Air (Rabat-Salé Airport - RBA):

The airport is approximately 10-15 kilometers from the city center. You can take a Grand Taxi for a fixed fare of around MAD 150 (€14) during the day and MAD 200 (€18) at night for the entire vehicle (up to 6 passengers). Shared Grand Taxis are also available, costing around MAD 25 (€2.30) per person during the day or MAD 33 (€3) at night. The journey typically takes 20-30 minutes. An Alsa City Bus (Route AE) also connects the airport to Gare de Rabat Ville and Gare de Rabat Agdal, with a travel time of about 30 minutes to Rabat Ville and a single ticket costing MAD 25.

By Train (ONCF):

Trains are a popular way to travel to and from Rabat, offering comfortable and efficient service.

  • To/From Casablanca:: Direct trains run hourly between Rabat Ville and Casablanca, taking approximately 55 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Fares range from MAD 30-70 ($4-$15).
  • To/From Marrakech:: Direct trains connect Rabat Ville to Marrakech every two hours, with journeys lasting about 3 hours 39 minutes to 4 hours. Ticket prices are typically MAD 130-250 ($28-$41).
  • To/From Fes:: Hourly direct train services operate between Rabat Ville and Fes, with a travel time of approximately 2 hours 48 minutes to 3 hours. Costs range from MAD 85-170 ($10-$34).

By Bus (CTM, Supratours, etc.):

Buses provide a cost-effective alternative for intercity travel.

  • To/From Casablanca:: Bus trips from Rabat to Casablanca typically take 1 hour 15 minutes to 2 hours, with fares ranging from MAD 35-55 ($3-$9). Multiple daily departures are available.
  • To/From Marrakech:: Buses connect Rabat to Marrakech in approximately 4 to 5 hours 7 minutes, with tickets costing MAD 130-190 ($9-$36). There are several departures daily.
  • To/From Fes:: Travel by bus to Fes takes about 2 hours 50 minutes to 4 hours 15 minutes, with prices from MAD 85-130 ($8-$19). Buses offer multiple daily services.

Car Rental:

Car rental services are available at Rabat-Salé Airport and within the city, with daily rates starting from approximately $9-$20. This offers flexibility for exploring Rabat and its surrounding areas, including one-way rentals to other major cities.
