Naivasha's primary transport hub is the Naivasha Matatu Stage, serving as a central point for shared public transport.

Matatu (Shared Minivan):

Traveling by matatu from Nairobi is a common and affordable option. Services depart frequently, often hourly, from central Nairobi locations such as Accra Road, Nyamakima Stage, or the Oil Libya gas station on Ronald Ngala Street. The journey typically takes between 1 hour 30 minutes and 2 hours 30 minutes, with fares ranging from $1 to $8 (approximately KES 250-400).

Private Car/Taxi/Shuttle:

Opting for a private car or taxi offers a more direct and comfortable experience. The drive from Nairobi generally takes around 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Costs for a taxi from Nairobi can be around $97, while VIP transport services may cost $200. Private airport transfers from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to Naivasha are also available, with travel times ranging from 1 hour 26 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes.

Car Rental:

Renting a car provides significant flexibility for exploring Naivasha and its surroundings. Daily rental rates for a sedan start from approximately KES 4,000 (around $30), with 4x4 vehicles ranging from KES 8,000 to KES 12,000 (around $60-$90). Car rental services are available both in Nairobi and Naivasha.

Charter Flight:

For a quicker and more exclusive journey, charter flights can be arranged from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to private airstrips near Naivasha, such as Loldia Airstrip. This option is considerably more expensive, with costs ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 for a one-way flight for a small group.
